Happy Pride Month! Our Presence

Greetings to all our subscribers,

We hope this email finds you well. Happy Pride Month! Wherever you are, we hope June brings you a chance to celebrate, connect, and feel part of a wider community.

In Greece, this is the month when the country’s two major Pride events take place. Athens Pride will take place on 13 June, with this year’s theme being ‘It’s About You’, whereas Thessaloniki Pride, whose motto is ‘Break the Code’, will take place on 20 June.

Those of you who have attended Pride events in Greece before will know that they are not as formalised as some Pride parades abroad (such as London Pride, for instance). Members of the public and smaller groups may join the parade without being officially registered as part of it. We plan to have a presence at both parades. If anyone would like to join us, please contact us by email, on Instagram or on Facebook — whether you are already a member or would simply like to meet us for the first time.

The weather may already be too hot for leather, but there are still ways to mark our identity and visibility: a wristband, a harness, a waistcoat, a relevant T-shirt, or any small detail that signals who we are. And then, of course, there are always those brave enough to put on more gear, or even full gear. That said, please come as you feel comfortable: people dressed casually are absolutely welcome too.

If you would like to join us but cannot take part in the parade itself — which starts at 7 pm in Athens and 6.30 pm in Thessaloniki — we are also planning to meet socially afterwards. On the evening of Athens Pride Saturday, we plan to be at Big Bar Athens, and on the Friday night of Thessaloniki Pride weekend, we plan to be at Micro Bar.
